The Furnace Glassworks in Colorado offers individual and group classes for people interested in learning the fine art of glass blowing. The studio is known for its decorative, sculptural and functional hot glass art that is represented in over 100 galleries across the country. The studio offers a wide array of glass blowing classes that incorporate introductory to advanced techniques at the furnace, as well as at the torch.
In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to create a minimum of 3 objects. Each workshop will include demonstrations on solid and blown glass. After each demonstration students will have the opportunity to try their hand at making the demo piece. Demo items will include but are not limited to paperweights, vases and drinking glasses.
Schedule your lesson at least 7 days in advance. Should you have to cancel or reschedule a confirmed lesson, we require a minimum of 48 hours advance notice. Refunds will not be provided to no-shows. Prepayment is required for all workshops.
In this workshop, your group of up to 3 people will have the opportunity to create 2-3 items per person. Each workshop will start with a demonstration of a paperweight. Each student will then have the opportunity to create their own paperweight with guidance from their instructor. After each student has completed their paperweight, the instructor will give a second demonstration for a vase or drinking vessel. Each student will then have the opportunity to create their own vase or drinking vessel with guidance from their instructor.
If you have a group of more than 3 people, make sure to book 2 stations for your class time. Each group workshop can only accommodate up to 3 people.
