The 2016 Spannabis Awards will officiate competitions in Best Seed, Best Nutrient, Best Paraphernalia, Best Growing Tool, Best Hemp Product, and Best Stand. The Medical Panel will be moderated by Fernando Caudevilla who will be joined by José Antonio Martínez Orgado, Iván Fornís Espinosa, and Amina Omar Nieto.
Fernando Caudevilla is a family medicine physician and Medical Advisor for Energy Control. He has been working for the last ten years in several different research, counselling and outreach projects about the therapeutic uses of cannabis, offered for healthcare professionals, cannabis associations and the general public. Regular contributor to the Cannabis Magazine.
Since January 2009, José Antonio Martínez Orgado has been assigned to the Neonatal Unit of the Paediatrics Service at Hospital Puerta de Hierro in Majadahonda, Madrid as a medical consultant. A part-time Associate Lecturer in Health Sciences in the Paediatrics Department of the Faculty of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Madrid since October 2009.
Iván Fornís Espinosa currently works as head of the technical department of the drug testing service at Energy Control. He has been a volunteer at Energy Control since 2000 where he has been involved in the perfecting and im- proving drug testing methods. He has contributed to several scientific and educational publications.
Amina Omar Nieto, a practicing lawyer of 14 years and specialist in administrative law, has always been linked to the cannabis movement and since her early years in Barcelona, has advocated legali- sing places for private social clubs of cannabis smokers. She is currently taking voluntary leave from her civil service position at Barcelona City Hall.
