When you think of amazing seafood, Denver probably does not come to mind. However Ocean Prime will change your mind about that, really quickly. Ocean Prime is the culmination of a creative exercise that was started in 2006 to define the best in culinary, beverage, service and atmosphere. Their team wanted to pair a great steakhouse with a great seafood restaurant. They imagined a place where their guests were greeted by name and partner with them in adventures of great food, wine and libation. In August 2006 they opened Mitchell’s Ocean Club in our hometown, Columbus, Ohio.
As they expanded their Modern American supper club concept outside Ohio, they renamed it Ocean Prime, with “Prime” reflecting their commitment to serving the highest quality steak, seafood, handcrafted cocktails and award-winning wines. They have opened nine locations to much success, and they plan on opening their tenth location, Philadelphia, in summer 2013, and their eleventh location, Beverly Hills, in spring 2014.
Ocean Prime was not developed overnight. The executive chef teams traveled, tasted and compared notes to refine a menu that would ignite curiosity and surpass expectations. Their operations teams sourced the finest and the freshest ingredients to elevate every plate that leaves their kitchen. They curated a Wine Spectator-honored wine list for perfect pairings. And they poured energy with a fresh twist into the creation of their signature cocktails, expertly prepared by their well-trained bar chefs.
If you plan on enjoying an evening downtown in the “lodo” section of Denver, we would recommend giving Ocean Prime a try. It may be a long way away from the ocean, but you would never know it from the flavor of their seafood.
