Whitewater Surf Park
A magnet for kayakers and surfers, Bend is host to Oregon’s first whitewater surf park located on the Deschutes River in the area known as Old Mill District. The white-water section is controlled by computer to create dynamic wave play making it the first of it’s kind in the West Coast.
Central Oregon is entirely volcanic in origin and The Newberry National Volcanic Monument is protected 50,000 acres of volcanic landscape, featuring caldera lakes, lava flows, lava tubes, obsidian fields and cinder cones.
Stay overnight at Crater Lake’s lodge or campground so you can take in the quiet beauty of this inspiring place at sunset and sunrise. Enjoy hiking the Cleetwood trail down to the water to go fishing or into the backcountry, or bike the rim road. Wander through the historic lodge and get breakfast at either Annie Creek or the Crater Lakes fine dining choice, or take a comfy seat on the porch and put your feet up. Crater lake also offers Volcano boat cruises with hikes into Wizard island where you can fish or swim.
Feeling adventurous? Try the only tree-based canopy zipline tour in the U.S. at Crater Lake Zipline Tours. The course is made up of nine different ziplines, with two of them measuring a quarter-mile each.
Mt. Bachelor ski area is located 22 miles from Bend and includes ski, snowboarding in two parks complete with tables, step ups and rails, tubing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and dog sledding.

- seasonal ice rink (November through March)
- multi-sport courts (April through October)
Covering three acres, The Pavilion hosts a variety of recreational activities, community events and sports. Sports include pickleball, basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton, as well as ice sports such as skating and hockey.
This is a favorite one of the many central Oregon activities and Bend has one of the finest ice skating rinks in the country at Seventh Mountain Resort. This extremely well maintained ice rink is enjoyed by both figure skaters and hockey skaters.

Old Mill District
A one stop shop is the Old Mill District with year round events, restaurants, shopping, IMAX movie theater, outdoor concerts, bike trails, a dog park and a open air horse-drawn carriage during the holiday season along the Deschutes River.
Bend has been declared the world’s top spot for (SUP) standup paddleboarding. Numerous outfitters offer lessons from group to private options complete with boards, paddles, life jackets, water shoes and cool weather gear if needed.
Farm to Fork
Chow is a sustainable restaurant with a keep it simple approach to food, wine and business. They offer breakfast , lunch, bakery, healthy/vegetarian options and a full bar.
Deschutes Brewery Tour
Deschutes is the 15th largest brewery in the world. Departing daily from the Tasting Room, the guided brewery tour gives an up-close glimpse at the pride and cutting edge tools that define our take on brewing. Ambassadors explain the finer points of using whole cone hops, German-built brew kettles and details that set them apart.
Bend Ale Trail
In a little mountain town of 82,000 people, Bend has a startling abundance of world-class breweries clustered close together. Bend has more breweries per-capita than any other city in Oregon and has been dubbed Beer Town USA! So it makes since that they should host the largest Ale Trail in the west. Volcanic Theater Pub
Volcanic Pub is an intimate live theater and music venue with comfy sofa seating and craft beers.
There are six amazing dispensaries located in beautiful Bend. From the creatively named Tokyo Star Fish and the friendly people at Cannabend, to the great selection at Bloomwell, Oregrown and 5th LMNT.
